An interesting game took place in Paderborn, where higher ranked Webmoebel Baskets (13-10) were outleveled at home by tenth ranked NBC (11-12) 92-73 on Friday. The game without a history. NBC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for NBC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American power forward Cory Abercrombie (201-85, college: Independence CC) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Will Chavis (181-81, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four NBC players scored in double figures. Forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ole Wendt (190-92, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. NBC moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. Loser Webmoebel Baskets keep the fifth position with ten games lost. NBC will face higher ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Webmoebel Baskets will play against ETB Wohnbau in Essen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
