Regular Season Round 28: Final Genclik - TED Istanbul 66-63

Twentiethth-ranked TED Istanbul (6-21) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Final Genclik (17-10) in Bursa on Saturday. Final Genclik managed to secure only three-point victory 66-63. However their fans expected much easier game. TED Istanbul was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 20-15 charge of Final Genclik, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Cameroonian power forward Alfred Aboya (206-85, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Erdem Ilter (-90) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Final Genclik players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ersan Ozseven (205-83) scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Final Genclik moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vestel. Loser TED Istanbul stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Final Genclik will meet at home Darussafaka (#9) in the next round. TED Istanbul will play against Orman Genc (#19) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
