Regular Season Round 20: Mladost Zemun - Konstantin 79-61

There was a change at the B League leadership position after last games. Round 20 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Konstantin (13-7). They were defeated by third ranked Mladost Zemun (13-7) 79-61 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Konstantin. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Mladost Zemun. Konstantin managed to win third quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Konstantin to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Mladost Zemun made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Konstantin turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Konstantin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nenad Banjanin (201-85, college: E.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Nikola Vukovic (202-94) who added 8 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Nemanja Gudzic (195-90) responded with 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Vladimir Velickovic (178-89) scored 14 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mladost Zemun keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Jagodina and Konstantin. Konstantin will play next round against Crnokosa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mladost Zemun will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Vojvodina in Novi Sad.
