Second Stage Round 10: Statyba - Gargzdai 82-63

Not a big story in a game in Vilnius where 15th ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (12-28) was outplayed by eighth ranked Statyba (22-18) 82-63. It looked good early as Gargzdai-Bremena took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Statyba had a 22-12 second period charge getting the lead and Gargzdai-Bremena was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-82. Statyba forced 19 Gargzdai-Bremena turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Statyba players scored in double figures. Statyba's coach Gintautas Regina used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Egidijus Ramanauskas (202-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Tadas Mazelis (194-92) added 15 points in the effort for Gargzdai-Bremena. Statyba maintains eighth position in with 22-18 record. Newly promoted Gargzdai-Bremena keeps the fifteenth place with 28 games lost. Statyba's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilnius Perlas-MRU.
