Very expected game when 13th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (9-14) were defeated at home by seventh ranked ETB Wohnbau (12-11) 81-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. ETB Wohnbau made 26-of-28 free shots (92.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for ETB Wohnbau especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Canadian-Bosnian guard Diego Kapelan (190-87, college: McNeese St.) fired 23 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Jusuf El Domiaty (189-90, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) produced 21 points and American guard Dwuan Rice (180, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. ETB Wohnbau have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Duesseldorf. Cuxhaven BasCats lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face higher ranked Webmoebel Baskets (#5) in Paderborn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cuxhaven BasCats will play at home against Science City Jena (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
