Rather predictable result in Klaipeda where second ranked Lemminkainen (16-8) defeated 6th ranked LKKA-Aistes (7-18) 81-69 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-69. Lemminkainen made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 LKKA-Aistes turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international swingman Lina Aglinskaite (182-87) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four LKKA-Aistes players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Lemminkainen. They maintain second place with 16-8 record having eight points less than leader VICI-Aistes. Loser LKKA-Aistes keeps the sixth position with 18 games lost. Lemminkainen will face Kibirkstis-Tiche (#4) in Vilnius in the next round. LKKA-Aistes will play at home against Utena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
