Tenth-ranked Turk Telekom (8-12) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (14-6) in Ankara on Sunday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Turk Telekom was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of Fenerbahce Ulker, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by international forward Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who scored that evening 14 points and 7 assists and Bosnian-Croatian swingman Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) supported him with 22 points. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains fifth position with 14-6 record. Turk Telekom lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker will meet at home Karsiyaka (#6) in the next round. Turk Telekom will play against Mersin (#12) in Akdeniz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
