Regular Season Round 25: Avantazh-Pol. - Pulsar 75-72

Fifth-ranked BC-93 Pulsar (13-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (20-4) in Kharkov on Sunday. Avantazh-Politekhnik managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 19-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Avantazh-Politekhnik outrebounded BC-93 Pulsar 39-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Timur Arabadzhi (192-81) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Anton Rochnyak (206-91) chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Taras Lipin (185-93) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Evgeni Vornik (207-86) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four BC-93 Pulsar players scored in double figures. Avantazh-Politekhnik maintains first place with 20-4 record, which they share with VolinBasket. BC-93 Pulsar at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Avantazh-Politekhnik is looking forward to face Aviastar (#4) in Zaporozhye in the next round. BC-93 Pulsar will play at home against BK Kremen in Kremenchuk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
