Regular Season Round 25: Karlsruhe - Chemnitz 81-62

We should mention about the upset which took place in Karlsruhe, where 4th placed BV Chemnitz 99 (14-10) was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked BG Karlsruhe (11-12) 81-62. The game without a history. BG Karlsruhe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was dominated by American players. Center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and guard Martin Samarco (191-85, college: Bowling Green) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists. BG Karlsruhe's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for BV Chemnitz 99 in the defeat. BG Karlsruhe have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Heidelberg and NBC. BV Chemnitz 99 at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. BG Karlsruhe's next round opponent will be USC Heidelberg (#10) on the road. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against NBC (#9) in Nurnberg.
