Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kayseri (14-7) against twelfth ranked Istanbul Universitesi (5-16) on Sunday night. Host Kayseri was edged by Istanbul Universitesi in a tough game in Kayseri 79-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kayseri. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-14 Kayseri's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 81-79 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American guard Roneeka Hodges (180-82, college: Florida St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian power forward Miranda Ayim (191-88, college: Pepperdine) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American center Nakia Sanford (194-76, college: Kansas, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and American-Montenegrin Anna De Forge (178-76, college: Nebraska, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 13 points in the effort for Kayseri. Four Istanbul Universitesi and five Kayseri players scored in double figures. Istanbul Universitesi maintains twelfth place with 5-16 record. Kayseri at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Istanbul Universitesi will play against higher ranked Besiktas (#10) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kayseri will play on the road against Antakya (#9) in Hatay and hopes to get back on the winning track.
