Very expected game in Zaporozhye where 13th ranked Cherkasy (8-22) was defeated by seventh ranked Ferro-ZNTU (18-13) 83-75. It looked good early as Cherkasy took an 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ferro-ZNTU took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. They made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Cherkasy outrebounded Ferro-ZNTU 46-29 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Cherkasy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Four Cherkasy players scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU maintains seventh position with 18-13 record. Cherkasy at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 22 games lost. Ferro-ZNTU's next round opponent will be Dnipro (#8) in Dnepropetrovsk. Cherkasy will play on the road against the league's second-placed BC Donetsk (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
