Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Istanbul B.B. (12-16) lost at home to fourth ranked Gaziantep (20-8) 77-69 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Istanbul B.B. won fourth quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gaziantep forced 19 Istanbul B.B. turnovers. Istanbul B.B. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Serhat Ugur (192-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 assists. Guard Murat Goektas (201-87) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Recep Dogrusoez (-86) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul B.B.Gaziantep moved-up to third place, which they share with Genc Telekom and Maliye Milli. Loser Istanbul B.B. dropped to the ninth position with 16 games lost. Gaziantep will face Vestel (#6) in Manisa in the next round. Istanbul B.B. will play on the road against Baskent Genclik in Ankara.
