Regular Season Round 29: Maliye Milli - Usak 82-66

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Maliye Milli (20-8) beat 18th ranked Usak (9-19) in Ankara 82-66 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Maliye Milli. Usak was better in fourth quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maliye Milli dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Usak's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Usak's players. Usak was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Travis Garrison (203-84, college: Maryland, agency: Edge Sports) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Maliye Milli players scored in double figures. Center Cem Coskun (209-87) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Dijuan Harris (175-86, college: Charlotte) added 12 points in the effort for Usak. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Maliye Milli. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Gaziantep and Genc Telekom. Loser Usak dropped to the seventeenth position with 19 games lost. Maliye Milli will face Darussafaka (#9) in Istanbul in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Usak will play at home against TED Istanbul (#20).
