13th ranked Pertevniyal (11-17) fell to fifteenth ranked Tire Gucu (11-17) in overtime by four points 79-83 on Wednesday night. Pertevniyal trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 26-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to tie the game 72-72 at the end of regular time. But then they lost overtime period 7-11. Kemal Koeseoglu (-81) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) accounted for 24 points and 10 rebounds. Four Tire Gucu players scored in double figures. Burak Can came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Soykan Yikilmaz (185-92) added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Pertevniyal in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tire Gucu moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Pertevniyal. Tire Gucu will meet higher ranked Akhisar Bld (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pertevniyal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Istanbulspor.
