Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked LTi 46ers (8-18) lost to ninth ranked New Yorker Phantoms (13-12) in Braunschweig 63-78. The game without a history. New Yorker Phantoms led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. New Yorker Phantoms outrebounded LTi 46ers 40-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Kyle Visser (211-85, college: Wake Forest) who scored 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Immanuel McElroy (193-80, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 17 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (210-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) produced 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American forward Koko Archibong (202-81, college: Pennsylvania) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four LTi 46ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. New Yorker Phantoms moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Telekom Baskets. LTi 46ers at the other side keep the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. New Yorker Phantoms' next round opponent will be BBC Bayreuth (#13) on the road where they are favorite. LTi 46ers will play against Bayern Muenchen.
