The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked TBB Trier's (9-17) road loss to thirteenth ranked BBC Bayreuth (11-15) 49-68. The game was mostly controlled by BBC Bayreuth. TBB Trier was better in second period 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TBB Trier 44-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. TBB Trier's coach Henrik Roedl rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. BBC Bayreuth moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Walter Tigers. TBB Trier at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. BBC Bayreuth's next round opponent will be higher ranked New Yorker Phantoms (#7) in Braunschweig and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TBB Trier will play at home against Artland Dragons (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
