Second Stage Round 12: Perlas-MRU - Silute 71-72

Important game to mention about took place in Vilnius. Fourteenth ranked Silute (16-26) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked Perlas-MRU (18-24) 72-71 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Perlas-MRU won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by center Ramunas Rackauskas (205-87) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and guard Ignas Razutis (185-87) supported him with 13 points and 6 assists. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by forward Tadas Padegimas (201-90) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Forward Antanas Udras (203-92) added 14 points and 5 rebounds. Perlas-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Silute maintains fourteenth position in with 16-26 record. Perlas-MRU at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 24 games lost. Silute will play against bottom-ranked ABRO-Universitetas (#16) in Siauliai in the next round. Perlas-MRU will play on the road against Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
