Very predictable result when fourth ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (15-10) won against at home 9th ranked NBC (11-13) 81-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BV Chemnitz 99. NBC was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Japanese point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 assists. American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four BV Chemnitz 99 players scored in double figures. Swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Ryan De Michael (205-77, college: Tenn-Martin) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for NBC. NBC's coach Derrick Taylor rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BV Chemnitz 99 maintains fourth position with 15-10 record. Newly promoted NBC dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. BV Chemnitz 99 will face Saar-Pfalz Braves (#14) in Homburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NBC will play at home against USC Heidelberg (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
