There was a minor upset in Ankara where 9th ranked Erdemir (10-12) was defeated by eleventh ranked Turk Telekom (9-13) 80-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-76. Turk Telekom outrebounded Erdemir 39-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Erdemir was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Nedim Yucel (203-79) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. American guard Gerrod Henderson (192-78, college: Louisiana Tech) produced 29 points (made all of his eight free throws) and his fellow American import forward Antwayne Robinson (203-84, college: Temple, agency: Priority Sports) added 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Erdemir's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Turk Telekom moved-up to tenth place. Loser Erdemir keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Turk Telekom will face higher ranked Aliaga (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
