A very interesting game took place in Kyiv. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Hoverla (18-14) to ninth ranked BC Kyiv (15-16) 75-74 on Saturday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. BC Kyiv forced 21 Hoverla turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Vladyslav Podolyan (196-86, agency: New Trend Agency) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Ruslan Otverchenko (195-90) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American swingman Brian Greene (195-83, college: Florida A&M) came up with 25 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa) added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks respectively for Hoverla in the defeat. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. BC Kyiv maintains ninth place with 15-16 record. Hoverla at the other side keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. BC Kyiv will have a break next round.
