Regular Season Round 21: Jedinstvo NB - Viva Basket 89-104

There was no surprise in Novi Becej where 14th ranked Jedinstvo NB (6-15) was defeated by tenth ranked Viva Basket (10-11) 104-89 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 55-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was guard Dragan Bjelica (198-81) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Forward Bojan Mihajlovic (198-88, college: Texas Arlington) chipped in 27 points and 8 rebounds. Viva Basket's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Srdjan Vokic who recorded 30 points and 5 rebounds and guard Predrag Brankovic (185-83) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Five Jedinstvo NB players scored in double figures. Viva Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Napredak A. Newly promoted Jedinstvo NB stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Viva Basket will face higher ranked Konstantin (#3) in Nis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jedinstvo NB will play on the road against Beovuk 72 (#10) in Beograd.
