Important game to mention about took place in Kaunas. Fifth ranked Utena (9-17) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked LKKA-Aistes (7-20) 59-56 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as LKKA-Aistes took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Utena had a 21-9 second period charge getting the lead and LKKA-Aistes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-59. It was a good game for power forward Kristina Palaimaite (191-81, college: Liberty) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Ela Briedyte (176-79) contributed with 21 points and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Kornelija Balciunaite (176-81) added 7 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for LKKA-Aistes. LKKA-Aistes' coach Ricardas Maceina rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Utena maintains fifth position with 9-17 record. LKKA-Aistes lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
