Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked BG Karlsruhe and 10th ranked USC Heidelberg had identical 11-12 record. But USC Heidelberg was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Karlsruhe 87-81 on Sunday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But USC Heidelberg won third quarter 28-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BG Karlsruhe shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Martin Samarco (191-85, college: Bowling Green) contributed with 27 points for the winners. American forward Sanijay Watts (193-87, college: Central Mo., agency: Limelight Hoops) replied with 21 points and guard Kai Barth (188-89) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for USC Heidelberg. Four USC Heidelberg players scored in double figures. USC Heidelberg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BG Karlsruhe (12-12) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Duesseldorf and ETB Wohnbau. USC Heidelberg at the other side keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. BG Karlsruhe will face league's leader Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. USC Heidelberg will play on the road against NBC (#10) in Nurnberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
