Very predictable result when sixth ranked Satu Mare (17-6) outscored on the road 14th ranked Iasi (3-21) 79-43. The game was mostly controlled by Satu Mare. Iasi was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iasi to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Satu Mare dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Iasi's 20 and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Satu Mare forced 28 Iasi turnovers. It was a good game for center Monica Ivan (184-81) who led her team to a victory with 13 points. Bosnian guard Amra Mehmedic (177-81) contributed with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Satu Mare's coach Dan Fleseriu felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Ceciley Johnson (188-87, college: W.Texas A&M) answered with 9 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Danielle Walker (178-86, college: Clark Atlanta) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Iasi. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Satu Mare. They maintain sixth place with 17-6 record. Iasi at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Satu Mare will play against Olimpia (#13) in Bucuresti in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iasi will play on the road against Cluj Napoca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
