Rather expected game when 6th ranked Hoverla (18-15) lost to fourth ranked Khimik (20-12) in Yuzhny 67-77. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Hoverla was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Hoverla was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. Khimik's coach Darko Russo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St.) responded with 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa) scored 17 points. Khimik maintains fourth position with 20-12 record. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 15 games lost. Khimik will play against higher ranked Azovmash (#3) in Mariupol in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hoverla will play on the road against Kryvbasbasket (#10) in Krivoy Rog and hopes to get back on the winning track.
