Very predictable result when seventh ranked New Yorker Phantoms (14-12) defeated on the road 13th ranked BBC Bayreuth (11-16) 72-64 on Wednesday. BBC Bayreuth trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 19-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 64-72 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Rich Melzer (203-79, college: Wisc.-RiverFal., agency: Court Side) who scored 22 points. Nigerian-American point guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 19 points. New Yorker Phantoms' coach Sebastian Machowski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
