BBL top team - Brose Baskets (23-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked EWE Baskets (13-14) in Oldenburg 96-89. It looked good early as EWE Baskets took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Brose Baskets took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. It was a quality performance for American forward Anthony Leon Tucker (198-85, college: Texas) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Slovakian guard Anton Gavel (189-84, agency: Pro One Sports) accounted for 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. American power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri, agency: Pro One Sports) added 19 points respectively for EWE Baskets in the defeat. Five Brose Baskets and four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. EWE Baskets' coach Ralph Held rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-3 record. EWE Baskets at the other side keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven. Brose Baskets will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. EWE Baskets will play against ALBA Berlin and hope to get back on the winning track.
