Not a big story in a game in Manisa where 17th ranked Baskent Genclik (10-20) was defeated by sixth ranked Vestel (20-10) 88-75 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Vestel dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Baskent Genclik's 42. They outrebounded Baskent Genclik 31-17 including a 23-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward Pervis Pasco (206-81, college: Kansas St., agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) helped adding 21 points. Five Vestel players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Melih Sevda (200-78) responded with 22 points and forward Recai Ozturk (198-82) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Vestel. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Final Genclik and Maliye Milli. Baskent Genclik lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Vestel will face Pamukkale (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baskent Genclik will play against TED Istanbul.
