There was no surprise in Izmir where 18th ranked Usak (10-20) was edged by twelfth ranked Gelisim (13-17) 75-72 on Friday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for forward Emre Ozpulat (200-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. Center Kaan Isbilen (205-83) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Gelisim's coach Deniz Atak used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side center Cem Coskun (209-87) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Mahir Bayrak (180-79) scored 6 points and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gelisim moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Usak dropped to the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Gelisim will face higher ranked Maliye Milli (#6) in Ankara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Usak will play at home against Tire Gucu (#13).
