There was an upset in Ankara where higher ranked Darussafaka (13-17) was defeated by nineteenth ranked Orman Genc (9-21) 68-63 on Saturday. Darussafaka trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 20-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-68 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Orman Genc especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. It was a great evening for center Onur Bolat (204-80) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Timucin Yener (185-84) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. At the losing side guard Can Korkmaz (187-92, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and American guard Jawan Carter (180-87, college: Delaware) scored 14 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Darussafaka's coach Aziz Bekir let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Orman Genc maintains nineteenth place with 9-21 record. Loser Darussafaka keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Orman Genc's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena Genc Telekom.
