Second Stage Round 1: LTHcast Mercator - Maribor Messer 57-76

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated LTHcast Mercator (0-1) in Skofja Loka. Hosts were rolled over by Maribor Messer (1-0) 76-57. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 0-0 record before this meeting. The game without a history. Maribor Messer led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maribor Messer outrebounded LTHcast Mercator 42-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Forward Sasa Mucic (202-83) nailed 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Jan Span (189-92) accounted for 19 points. Forward Blaz Mahkovic (194-90) came up with 14 points and guard Jan Demsar (190-92) added 11 points respectively for LTHcast Mercator in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Maribor Messer keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Polzela and Rogaska. LTHcast Mercator at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with Geoplin Slovan and Parklji. Maribor Messer will play against Geoplin Slovan (#10) in Ljubljana in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LTHcast Mercator will play at home against the league's leader Rogaska in Rogaska Slatina to get more than just one victory in their record.
