Regular Season Round 27: Kirchheim - Leitershofen 99-90

Very expected game when 15th ranked Leitershofen (6-19) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kirchheim Knights (16-9) 99-90 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-17. But Leitershofen won second period 29-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kirchheim Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Ahmad Smith (194-84, college: St.Bonaventure) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Devin Uskoski (198-85, college: Rocky Mountain) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Skyler Bowlin (190-89, college: Missouri So., agency: Warren Sports International) who recorded 24 points and 4 assists and center DeWayne Richardson (202-77, college: Fairmont St.) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Kirchheim Knights and five Leitershofen players scored in double figures. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to second place, which they share with Crailsheim. Newly promoted Leitershofen stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Kirchheim Knights will meet ETB Wohnbau (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leitershofen will play against BG Karlsruhe (#8) and hope to secure a win.
