Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rudupis (15-4) against fifth ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (10-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Rudupis was defeated by Pieno Zvaigzdes in a tough game in Pasvalys 63-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Rudupis. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-17 Rudupis' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-63 at the end of the game. Pieno Zvaigzdes dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rudupis' 24. American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: Edge Sports) notched 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American center Sylvester Morgan (209-83, college: Georgia St.) supported him with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Four Pieno Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by Valdas Dabkus (204-84) did not help to save the game for Rudupis. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (198-90) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Rudupis' coach Virginijus Seskus rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Pieno Zvaigzdes maintains fifth position with 10-7 record. Rudupis at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Pieno Zvaigzdes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rudupis will play at home against the league's second-placed Zalgiris in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
