The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Cluj Napoca's (7-20) home victory over 14th ranked Iasi (2-25) 66-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. Cluj Napoca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iasi to just 5 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Cluj Napoca made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Iasi turnovers. It was a very good performance for forward Flavia Ferenczi (175-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Marta Fodor (183-91) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Danielle Walker (178-86, college: Clark Atlanta) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and center Doinita Panait (182-90) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Iasi. Cluj Napoca moved-up to twelfth place. Iasi lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 25 games lost. Cluj Napoca will face Olimpia (#13) in Bucuresti in the next round. Iasi will play at home against Sp.Studentesc in Bucuresti.
