There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Phoenix Hagen (8-19) outscored at home higher ranked New Yorker Phantoms (14-13) 96-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Phoenix Hagen. New Yorker Phantoms was better in fourth quarter 27-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Phoenix Hagen shot 60.4 percent from the field and made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Phoenix Hagen outrebounded New Yorker Phantoms 34-23 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Phoenix Hagen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. New Yorker Phantoms were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Davin White (186-81, college: CS Northridge) fired 24 points and 5 assists for the winners. Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Jonusas (200-82) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Branko Jorovic (205-81, agency: Beo Basket) produced 13 points and Nigerian-American point guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV, agency: Pro One Sports) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix Hagen moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser New Yorker Phantoms keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Phoenix Hagen will face league's leader Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
