There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Tire Gucu (12-18) defeated at home higher ranked Balikesir (13-17) 70-60 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. Tire Gucu forced 24 Balikesir turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Ahmet Yolcu (184-78, agency: EM-PA) helped adding 20 points. At the losing side American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and guard Yunus Akcay (-89) scored 14 points. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Ismail Dogrutekin let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tire Gucu maintains thirteenth place with 12-18 record. Newly promoted Balikesir keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Tire Gucu will face Usak (#18) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
