Regular Season Round 28: Art.Dragons - Fraport SKY 60-66
Date: March 20, 2012
An interesting game took place in Quakenbrueck, where higher ranked Artland Dragons (18-9) lost at home to eleventh ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (13-15) 60-66 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Artland Dragons won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Deutsche Bank Skyliners won last quarter 16-12. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Deutsche Bank Skyliners made 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. Guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri, agency: Strategic Sports) fired 15 points for the winners. Forward Jermareo Davidson (208-84, college: Alabama) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks. Swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to ninth place, which they share with EWE Baskets and Bremerhaven. Loser Artland Dragons keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will face league's second-placed ratiopharm Ulm at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Artland Dragons will play against BBC Bayreuth.
