Bottom-ranked TED Istanbul managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Wednesday night. This time they won against seventeenth-ranked Baskent Genclik in Ankara 87-73. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. TED Istanbul made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. TED Istanbul outrebounded Baskent Genclik 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 9 rebounds and forward Can Uzun (195-86) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Forward Melih Sevda (200-78) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and forward Recai Ozturk (198-82) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TED Istanbul maintains twentiethth position with 7-25 record. Baskent Genclik lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighteenth place with 21 games lost. TED Istanbul will meet at home higher ranked Pamukkale (#15) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Baskent Genclik will play against Final Genclik in Bursa and hope to secure a win.
