Leader Optimum TED delivered the twentieth fifth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Darussafaka (13-18) 74-65 in Istanbul. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-15. But Darussafaka won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by Darussafaka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by center Hakan Yapar (202-84) who scored that evening 16 points and center Ufuk Gurgen (208-77, agency: EM-PA) supported him with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Even 20 points by American guard Jawan Carter (180-87, college: Delaware) did not help to save the game for Darussafaka. His fellow American import forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) added 16 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Optimum TED (25-5) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the ninth place with 18 games lost. Optimum TED's next round opponent will be Gelisim (#11) in Izmir and are hoping to win another game. Darussafaka will play on the road against Genc Telekom in Ankara.
