There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Pertevniyal (12-19) beat at home 12th ranked Istanbul B.B. (13-18) 85-68 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Pertevniyal. Istanbul B.B. was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Burak Can who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. point guard Soykan Yikilmaz (185-92) chipped in 10 points and 7 assists. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Pertevniyal's coach Menderes Gumusdal allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and guard Umutcan Ozyildirim (196-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Pertevniyal moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Tire Gucu. Loser Istanbul B.B. dropped to the ninth position with 18 games lost. Pertevniyal will face higher ranked Vestel (#4) in Manisa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
