Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Utena (10-18) rolled over bottom-ranked Suduva (6-22) in Marijampole 86-55 on Friday. The game without a history. Utena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Suduva to just 6 points in second quarter. It was a great shooting night for Utena especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Suduva's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Ela Briedyte (176-79) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. American guard Bianca Smith (175-87, college: Colorado) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Utena's coach Sinilga Bartaseviciute felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Russian forward Margarita Bulanova (178-90) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and forward Monika Aleksaite (178-93) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Suduva. Newly promoted Utena maintains fifth place with 10-18 record. Suduva lost third consecutive game. Suduva at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 22 lost games.
