Regular Season Round 24: Karsiyaka - Tofas 87-66
Date: March 23, 2012
Sixth ranked Karsiyaka (14-10) crushed at home 8th ranked Tofas (11-13) by 21 points 87-66, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-66. Tofas was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of American point guard Mire Chatman (187-78, college: UTPA, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and forward Ilkan Karaman (205-90, agency: Beo Basket) who added 15 points during the contest. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Samet Geyik (206-93) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Karsiyaka maintains sixth position with 14-10 record. Tofas lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 13 games lost. Karsiyaka will face Erdemir (#10) on the road in the next round. Tofas will play against Trabzonspor.
