Everything went according to plan when third ranked Genc Telekom (23-9) defeated 10th ranked Darussafaka (13-19) in Ankara 83-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-67. It was a good game for forward Hazer Avci (206-87, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: TSS Management) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Genc Telekom players scored in double figures. Guard Can Korkmaz (187-92, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 13 points and 5 assists and forward Burak Selen (202-88) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Darussafaka. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Genc Telekom maintains third place with 23-9 record having just one points less than leader Optimum TED. Darussafaka lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Genc Telekom will face Gaziantep (#6) on the road in the next round. Darussafaka will play against Gelisim (#10) in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
