Regular Season Round 24: Trabzonspor - Anadolu Efes 64-69
Date: March 24, 2012
Very expected game when 15th ranked Trabzonspor (5-19) was defeated at home by second ranked Anadolu Efes (20-4) 69-64 on Saturday. Trabzonspor was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Anadolu Efes dominated on the defensive end, holding Trabzonspor to just 7 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and the former international guard Kerem Tunceri (190-79) who added 9 points and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Elton Brown (206-83, college: Virginia) with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import point guard Jonathan Gibson (182-87, college: N.Mexico St.) scored 14 points. Trabzonspor's coach Halil Uner rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anadolu Efes have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray. Trabzonspor lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 19 games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Antalya (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trabzonspor will play against Tofas in Bursa.
