No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Artland Dragons (20-9) smashed on the road 14th ranked TBB Trier (10-19) 73-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Artland Dragons led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St.) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Maik Zirbes (205-90) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Philip Zwiener (198-85) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons maintains fourth place with 20-9 record. Loser TBB Trier keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Artland Dragons will meet at home league's leader Brose Baskets in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TBB Trier will play against s Oliver Baskets (#5) in Wuerzburg and hope to secure a win.
