Regular Season Round 23: Rilski Sportist - Tundja Yambol 81-75

An interesting game for Rilski Sportist (15-8) which hosted in Samokov 4th placed Tundja Yambol (13-10). Third ranked Rilski Sportist managed to get a 6-point victory 81-75. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-12. But Tundja Yambol won third quarter 28-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tundja Yambol was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. Serbian power forward Filip Vukosavljevic (205-83) helped adding 14 points. Guard Martin Durchev (200-87) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tundja Yambol players scored in double figures. Rilski Sportist have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-8 record having six points less than leader Lukoil Academik. Tundja Yambol at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Rilski Sportist will play against league's leader Lukoil Academik in Sofia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tundja Yambol will play at home against Euroins Cherno More in Varna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
