Very expected game when 15th ranked Iasi (3-27) was rolled over on the road by eighth ranked Timisoara (17-13) 85-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Timisoara. Iasi managed to win third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iasi to just 5 points in second quarter. Timisoara forced 21 Iasi turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Serbian center Nevena Saponjic (186-85) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Jovana Vukoje (174-86) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. Timisoara's coach Ljubomir Kolarevic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Gabriela Necula (187-91) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Doinita Panait (182-90) scored 12 points. Timisoara maintains eighth position with 17-13 record. Loser Iasi keeps the fifteenth place with 27 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
