There was no surprise when 6th ranked Parklji (1-21) was crushed on the road by second ranked Maribor Messer (13-9) 102-56 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Maribor Messer led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Maribor Messer outrebounded Parklji 35-24 including a 26-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Maribor Messer especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Ilija Gavric (200-88) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Swingman Marko Cej (192-88) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Maribor Messer players scored in double figures. Luka Nemanic (-92) produced 14 points and Marko Filipovic (-93) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maribor Messer maintains second position in League with 13-9 record having just 0 victories less than leader Polzela. Loser Parklji keeps the sixth place with 21 games lost. Maribor Messer will face league's leader Polzela on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Parklji will play against LTHcast Mercator (#5) in Skofja Loka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
