Regular Season Round 36: Mykolaiv - Ferro-ZNTU 76-93

Very expected game when 11th ranked Mykolaiv (11-25) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (22-14) 93-76 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferro-ZNTU. Mykolaiv managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Randy Culpepper (182-89, college: UTEP) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: New Trend Agency) who recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Ivan Gilyevych (205-82) added 15 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 22-14 record. Mykolaiv lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 25 games lost. Ferro-ZNTU will meet BC Odessa (#5) on the road in the next round. Mykolaiv will have a break next round.
