Lugano had little problems cruising to the initial win in the series against SAM Massagno. The game without a history. Lugano Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to SAM Massagno's 44. They outrebounded SAM Massagno 40-28 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lugano Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by SAM Massagno's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mohammed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Edwin Draughan (196-82, college: Yale) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. Montenegrin power forward Danilo Mitrovic (208-84) answered with 21 points and American forward Chris Kaba (203-88, college: N.Colorado) added 12 points in the effort for SAM Massagno. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
